Wins for the 1's, 2's and 3's but defeat for the 4's and 5's sees Richmond earn a 32 point haul on the first Saturday of the League season.

Resplendent in the new sponsor's shirts, Richmond's cricketers enjoyed a reasonable opening day of the League season before an excellent Chairman's Drinks back at ODP which lasted well ito the early hours. The 1's travelled to Stanmore to face the side which finished in 3rd place last season. The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first but Richmond's were on song from the off, reducing Stanmore to 124 for 8 off 34 overs before a late rally took them to 178 all out. There were 4 wickets for Tom Hemingway but Jack Porter bowled possibly the key over, dismissing Middlesex's Steve Eskinazi and former England star, Mark Ramprakash, in the same over. In reply, a superb opening stand of 109 in just 14 overs, between Ryan Higgins and James Irvine-Fortescue, devastated Stanmore and the result was inevitable. Higgins ended up with 107 before holing out with just 4 needed, JIF earlier dismissed for 42.
At ODP, the 2's won the toss and the senior batsmen, Stephen Bail and Simon Elliott led the way to an excellent 291 for 7 off the allotted 45 overs. In reply Stanmore's top order fell to the youthful seamers of debutant Barnaby Cole and Sharif Khan, subsiding to 115 all out and a win for Richmond by 176 runs.
The 3's took all 10 points off Uxbridge in the first league match to be held at the Newman Cricket Ground. Deputy Chairman and soon to be sheep farmer, David Harding-Smith, top scored with 67 as Richmond amassed 214 for 9. In reply, another youngster Arshdip Singh, was the star with the ball taking 4 for 45 as Uxbridge were dismissed for 175.
The 3B's travelled to Eastcote having suffered from a late and inexcusable withdrawal. They also suffered a number of dropped catches which enabled Eastcote to record 265 for 9. Mick Atkinson was the pick of the bowlers with 6 for 62. The Richmond reply was led by Rich Zotov who scored 63 but we fell 25 short. 2 bonus points were salvaged as our score was within 10% of the Eastcote total.
A lack of bowling hampered the 5's against Twickenham at Harlington. Richmond scored 212 but the visitors eased to their target for the loss of just 4 wickets.
