The 1's and 4's maintain their challenges but the 2's and 3's falter. The 5 have the most thrilling of wins.

Mixed fortunes for the Richmond sides on Saturday 15 of the League season. The 1's fought back well from being 36 for 5 to beat Twickenham and maintain 2nd place just one point behind Hampstead. The 2's and 3's both saw their title ambitions hindered by defeats against Hornsey and Stanmore respectively. The 4's, however, move to top spot and the 5's thrilling last-ball win sees them move closer to safety.

At Old Deer Park, Richmond were inserted and in early trouble against Middlesex seamer Gurjit Sandhu. From 36 for 5, Richmond's middle order worked hard to make an eventual total of 167 with excellent efforts from Bhavesh Pankhania, Jack Porter, David Burton and Jimmy Mugnaioni. In reply Burton led the Richmond fightback but all bowlers performed well with Tom Hemingway's excellent spell of 10 overs, 2 for 19 worthy of particular praise. Burton ended up with 4 wickets including the final one as Twickenham were bowled out for just 112. Hampstead's win over Finchley means that Richmond remain second and on course for a final day play-off.

At Hornsey, the 2's were inserted on a difficult wicket and bowled out for 99. The home side reached the target for the loss of 5 wickets to leave the 2's 8 points behind leaders Ealing and 2 points behind North Middlesex.

The 3's lost ground on North Middlesex after a disappointing 2 wicket defeat away to Stanmore. Inserted, Richmond made 18, a total which Stanmore overhauled with 10 balls to spare.

The 4's dismissed Ealing 4's for just 82 and despite a collapse from 67 for 1 to 76 for 6, they managed to overhaul their opponents by 4 wickets. Defeats for leaders Highgate and 3rd place Shepherds Bush mean that Richmond move to the top of the division, 9 points clear of Highgate and 16 ahead of the Bush. Promotion is within touching distance and the title there for the taking.

Simon French took 9 for 32 as Finchley 4's were dismissed for 142 but the 5's batting was also challenged and with one ball remaining all results were possible. The experience of Kassim Baksh secured the single required for victory and an important 10 points.

So with 3 weeks to go, the title challenges are all on and we look forward to an exciting finale to the season.
