Tom Hemingway's 5 wicket haul sees Richmond defeat neighbours Twickenham and move into clear second in the Premier League.

Invited to bat first in cloudy conditions, Richmond lost early wickets as the ball swing around. Only Bhavesh Pankhania, returning to the side after his first year at University, stood firm with a patient 59 as Richmond limped to 157 all out.

The wicket was taking turn and had indifferent bounce but despite losing an early wicket to Steve Stacey, Twickenham made good early progress against the new ball. However for the second week running, the introduction of Jimmy Mugnaioni brought about a change. First he dismissed the dangerous Dan Housego and then followed up with the dismissal of Hicks to reduce the hosts to 60 for 3. Carlos Nunes,Twickenham's skipper, is always a prized wicket. Nunes clearly decided that he would attack the spin of Tom Hemingway and at first his plan seemed to be working. However when Hemingway took a sharp return catch and then followed up with a second to dismiss Russell, Richmond were right back in the game. A potential pivotal moment came when McCabe holed out to Jack Porter at long-off only to be reprieved by the call of "no-ball" from the umpire.

Twickenham were 81 for 5 at tea, still requiring 77 for victory. Their hopes were dented when Hemingway took another sharp caught and bowled immediately after the break. However an aggressive partnership between Mullahzadah and McCabe turned the tide back in the home team's favour. With 37 needed Pankahnia was brought into the attack and struck with his fourth ball, deceiving McCabe and bringing about a third caught and bowled of the innings. A few runs later and Hemingway struck twice in two balls - first to dismiss Mullahzadah LBW and then to induce an edge from Singh which was well held by Andrew Plummer at second slip. With one wicket needed, Steve Stacey returned to the attack. After a couple of loose deliveries, Stace found his line and length to beat Sandhu's defence and take that crucial final wicket. An excellent win which sees Richmond move clear into second place, 14 points behind leaders Ealing.
