Richmond beat Shepherds Bush and Indian Gymkhana to progress to the last 8 of the County T20 competition.

To round off an excellent weekend for Richmond cricket, our T20 side comprehensively won both of their matches today to progress into the last 8 of the Middlesex T20 competition. Richmond fielded a young side with only skipper for the day, David Blows, over the age of 30 and 4 players Under 19. In the first match Shepherds Bush won the toss and batted but, after an early flurry of runs, subsided to some excellent spin and fine fielding. Behind the stumps Tanmay Thanawalla, an Under 15, was excellent with 3 stumping to his name. The Bush were dismissed for just 96. Sami Shori led the way with the bat, getting Richmond off to an excellent start before Max Read and Blowsy saw us comfortably home. In the group final, Richmond asked Indian Gymkhana to bat first and this time it was another the youngsters, Barnaby Cole, who led the way with 3 for 10 off his 4 overs (including a hat-trick over the two matches - last ball of match 1 and first 2 balls of match 2). Sam Goodwill and Sami Shori were also in the wickets as Indian Gym were dismissed for 72. These were quickly knocked off by Sami (48 not out) and Cormac McLoughlin (15 not out) in less than 11 overs.Richmond now go through to the last 8 in the county to be played, probably, on the Bank Holiday Monday at the end of the month. All in all a superb weekend of cricket for the Club - long may it continue!
