Cricket is Back

Cricket is back

With positive news about the effectiveness of the vaccine programme the prospect of a full summer of cricket is a real one.

As of this this morning (Monday 29th April) we are open for camps during the day and nets in the evenings. A lot of work has gone in to setting up Old Deer Park and the Newman Cricket Ground (which will be open outside of school hours). We are committed to a responsible approach in line with ECB and government guidance - the latest can be found here.

It is extremely important that those using our facilities understand their own responsibilities in maintaining a safe environment for all. This is essential if we are to keep our club open. If you or anyone in your household are required by government guidelines to self-isolate please do not come to the ground. With camps in particular the ground will be busy. The new cycle lane outside Old Deer Park has significantly reduced parking / set down space so please be considerate of others when dropping off and picking up. A short walk will be necessary to prevent snarl ups on the road.

What are the current plans? (subject to change)

  • Easter Camps - starting Monday 29th March for 3 weeks - click here for more information. Note that you must book and pay well in advance to allow us to ensure that we can meet our obligations with respect to covid-19.
  • Adult training - from Wednesday 31st March
  • First senior fixtures - friendlies from 17th April
  • Junior training - from Sunday 18th April

Stay safe and well, observe the government and ECB guidelines and we look forward to seeing you for wonderful summer of cricket.
