MEET THE TEAM

Adam London - Batting Specialist

A former professional cricketer with Middlesex, Adam joined Richmond in 2018 as our Director of Cricket. Adam draws on his many years of experience as a player and coach to offer bespoke private coaching packages across all ages and abilities. On one day you will find Adam passionately taking a youngster through their 1st steps into the sport, and the next, he will be putting England and Middlesex opener, Sam Robson, through his paces, as his personal batting coach.

Adam's proudest achievement in a Richmond shirt was in 2023, when he led a young 1st team to promotion. Our 2023 squad contained no less than 8 players aged 21 or under, all beneficiaries of our junior program and Adam's guidance.

Eric Botha - Fast Bowling Specialist

Eric's coaching specializes in breaking down the fundamentals of the game using both verbal and visual feedback tools to help for better understanding. Eric has represented Western Australia in national tournaments and is currently playing 1st Grade cricket for South Perth. He has been a cricket coach for 8 years now ranging from group clinics to 1 on 1 sessions.

Craig Baldry - Spin Bowling Specialist

Craig comes to Richmond from Ealing, via Tauranga, New Zealand, where he has lived since his family emigrated from West London in 2006 as a 6 years old. He is an off-spinning bowling all rounder with a wealth of top-grade senior club experience. More recently Craig has been playing at a regional level in NZ. Craig has previously played and coached in the UK for Eckington CC, in the ECB Derbyshire Premier League. Coaching cricket since he was 15 and as much as he loves playing and winning, helping directly with the development of other players of any age is the next best thing. Giving back to the game he loves and that has given him so much gives Craig great joy. His priorities when coaching are making sure everyone is enjoying themselves as well as learning both technical and mental skills to help better a players game and achieve what they want in the sport.

Ben Ward - Spin bowling and batting specialist

Our resident international cricketer, leg spinning all rounder Ben Ward is available for 121 lessons, when not bamboozling Middlesex League batsmen or representing Jersey on the world stage.

Following man of the match performances for Jersey against Ireland and Scotland, an injury put a premature end to Ben's 2023 season, he is fit and raring to go in 2024.During the winter Ben follows the sun to South Africa where he can be found coaching and playing domestic cricket.

Ben has been coaching from a young age, infact, it is in his DNA, with his Father the former Head Coach of Western Province CC and current Assistant Coach of The Western Storm in South Africa.
