The arrival of Lachie is long awaited, having originally been signed in 2019 with a view to come over to Richmond in the 2020 and then 2021 season, but prevented by the various stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lachie is one of the most promising cricketers in Melbourne. As a hard hitting left hand batter, a handy left arm seamer and a gun fielder, Lachie has established himself as a key cog in Prahan’s 1st Grade side. In the 2020/21 season, he powered his team to the Melbourne Premier Cricket Premiership, scoring 424 runs, including two hundreds at a strike rate of over 100. These consistent, destructive performances led to a call up to the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash t20 league in late 2021. All of this points to promising signs for Lachie and for the Richmond 1st XI as we look to add silverware to 2021’s Middlesex Cup triumph!

Lachie also comes with a strong reputation as a great guy off the field, and we’re looking forward to the contribution he can make to club culture and the advice and knowledge he can share with the Men’s, Women’s and Junior sections.
