After winning 3 out of 5 on League Saturday 1, Richmond complete a clean sweep in Week2!

When it comes to local derbies, Richmond v Teddington, at any level, has always been the one that we want to win. Teddington are dear friends but also our greatest rivals and so this Saturday's victories for both 1's and 2's were hugely enjoyable. But if that wasn't enough, our 3's, 4's and 5's all won to give Richmond the perfect 50 point Saturday!
At Old Deer Park, Adam London won the toss and put Teddington in under grey skies. The visitors made a steady start before 3 quick wickets, one for Eric Botha and 2 for Ishaan Kashaul, put the brakes on. Ben Ward then took 2 and Teddington were 66 for 5. Former Richmond junior, Arjun Bhat, in partnership with Joe Ludlow, steadied the ship but another 3 wickets for Vansh Jani and William Knowles, put us firmly back on top as Teddington subsided to 130 for 8. However Bhat was still in and with skipper for the day, Andrew Brewster, were resilient and in the end Teddington finished on 201. In reply, Richmond got off to a solid start with Vansh Jani continuing his fine form ably assisted by Zak Pooley on debut. However after Jani was dismissed for 50, Richmond lost wickets to slide to 126 for 6. Cometh the hour, cometh the men in the form of Ben Ward and Olly Leedham who sensibly went about their business. Time was never an issue and the Richmond pair played really well to take us to the brink of victory. With just 7 needed, Leedham played a loose shot but Eric Botha came in and won the game with a big 6 over long-on and 3.5 overs remaining. A good and much-needed win sees the 1's off the mark.
The 2's won their second league match of the season with Kartik Jain the stand-out bowler with 6 for 12. Whilst Teddington's last 2 hung around for some time, they did not add extensively to the total and were dismissed for104. Richmond's reply was nervy and it was the cool head of Alex Zotov with 28 not out which saw us across the line.
The 3's also made it 2 from 2 with an emphatic win over North London 3's. Batting first at the Newman, we scored 204 for 9 and dismissed our visitors for 111. Jean Fourie was the star man with a half-century and 5 wickets.
The 4's, despite only having 9 men, got off the mark with a 49 run win over Middlesex Titans 3's. Bharat Manimaran with 71 starred with the bat and Adil Sadiq with 4/49 with the ball.
The 5's also recorded their second win of the league campaign with a 70 run win over Harrow 3's. Star performers with the bat were Yousouf Shah (56) and Mohammed Umer Noor with 61. Zakyra Khan led the way with the ball (5 for 19) and Rashid Mushtaq, better known for his explosive batting, came in with 3 for28.
It was a good Saturday!
