Will Knowles stole the show for the 2's, the 1's thrash North Midd, the 3's and 5's move a step closer to the title but the 4's lose.

In the most dramatic fashion, Will Knowles stunned Ealing 2's by taking 3 wickets in 4 balls to seal an amazing win for Zain's XI and move our 2's into 3rd place, just 8 behind leaders Teddington. At Corfton Road, watched via the stream by the 1st XI back at Old Deer Park, Ealing needed just 5 runs for victory with 3 wickets in hand as Knowlesy began his 16th over and the final over of the match. Two singles off the first two balls. 3 from 4. Then the fun began. Two LBW's in successive balls left Ealing still needing 3 from 2 with one wicket left. The number 11 scored a single off the 5th ball. Anand Ashok, a former Richmond player who had come in at number 4 was facing. Knowlesy bowled it full and straight; Ashok tried to drive it and was bowled middle-stump. Cue the celebrations as the 2's won by a single run! Earlier, Richmond's innings had begun well after the early dismissal of Nikhil Malik with Zac Pooley and Eddie Bruce sharing a 78 run stand. Zac and Nathan Parkin then added 46 and we were well placed at 127 for 2. But then 4 wickets were lost for just 11 runs. 138 for 6 was not so good. Thankfully Chris Laws and skipper Zain steadied the ship in a 49 run partnership but once Santa went, we were only able to add another 21 runs before being all out for 207 after 50.3 overs. At 105 for 1 with the veteran Luke Stoughton well set, Ealing seemed to be in control but Knowlesy grabbed one and then KD bowled Stoughton. 105 for3. However a 37 run stand put Ealing back in charge. Back came Richmond - Jean Fourie took 1,KD a couple. 153 for 6. Game on. Back came Ealing adding a further 32 runs before KD took his 4th. However from 183 for 7 Ealing seemed to be on for the win until that mad, brilliant last over!
Its not often that a resounding 10 wicket win over the Premier League leaders by the 1's gets second billing but this performance deserves the headlines.
At Old Deer Park, North Middlesex won the toss and chose to bat. The sun was out, the pitch looked good and potentially there was a long day ahead for our young 1st XI - 5 player under 21, 8 under 25 and only the skipper Adam London, playing his final game as a single man, over 30! And after the first 3 overs, with North Midd on 25 for 0 off 21 balls, it was not looking good. But then 18 year old Sam Graham took 3 and Eric Botha 1 to reduce the visitors to 39 for 4 with both of their centurions from the previous week back in the hutch, both falling to wonderful deliveries from Sam. The visitors rallied to 71 before Olly Leedham came on to induce a nick to second slip. 10 runs later Eric struck again. 81 for 6. David Heavyside responded with a couple of boundaries but James Nelson's introduction saw him caught behind. 93 for 7 10 minutes before lunch soon became 93 for 8 and Eric bowled two beauties to ht the stumps twice. After lunch, North Midd's last pair added another 18 but Sam Graham returned to take his 4th. Both Sam and Eric returned figures for 4 for 41 as the League leaders were bowled out for 112 in 31.5 overs. Small targets can be tricky but not this week. Greg King attacked, Vansh Jani just played as he can and after 18.2 overs it was all over - Greg 71 not out, Vansh 39 not out to take him to 698 Premier League runs, the most by any teenager playing in an ECB Premier League this season. Ironically, despite a stunning win, the 1's drop to 8th because Stanmore recorded a 12 point win. Importantly though, the win moves us 31 points clear of 9th placed Finchley with 5 games to go.
At one stage, with Crouch End 3's 44 for 8, it looked like the 3's would win at a canter. However, they rallied to 141 all out. David Kidd (4 for 38) and Pawan Malik (3 for 28) starred with the ball. In reply, Richmond were faltering at 62 for 4 but the experience of Pawan and the determination of Sean Austin steadied the ship with a partnership of 51. However after Sean was out there was still work to do but Pawan, with Kyle Seth, saw us home. The 3's remain top of the League 8 points ahead of North Middlesex.
The 4's did not have a successful day being dismissed for 164.Arun Veluswamy led the way with 50 but there were too many players who got in and got out. Remy Moss took 3 early wickets but that was it as Harrow Town 3's cruised to a 7 wicket win. The 4's are in 7th place, 11 points above the relegation zone.
The 5's, top of Division 3 of the 3rd tier, took on second place Wycombe House 3's. The gap was just one point. Richmond dominated the match scoring 260 for 9 off 46 with Tanzeel Ur Rahman starring with 77 off 82 balls. The star with the ball was Musavir Khan Ghani who returned the amazing figures of 7 for 18 off 15 overs but Wycombe House were determined not to hand us 12 points and hung on for a draw - 102 for 7 off 46. The draw moves us 6 points clear.
So all in all, a good day with some outstanding performances throughout the sides.
