David Blows outstanding innings of 65 not out off just 43 balls was the highlight of Richmond's dramatic last minute win against West Of England Premier league Champions, and old friends of Richmond, in the first match of the 2015 season.
Frocester, who last year reached the quarter-finals of the Royal London National Cup, racked up 248 for 7 off their allotted 45 overs. Richmond's bowlers showed some rustiness but stuck well to their task and only a hard-hitting 72 from Frocester's skipper Nick Trainor set up the high total.
In reply, Andrew Lowe got Richmond off to an excellent start, scoring 31 out of a quick 45 but then Richmond lost their way losing wickets and momentum. That changed when David Blows came in with the score on 146/6. Joining Jack Porter, Blowsy smashed the ball to all parts. Porter's dismissal with the score on 230, quickly followed by two more wickets, left Blows and Mike Wood needing 16 for victory. A scrambled single of the last ball of the game saw the win completed.
