RCC U11B 115 for 4 off 20 overs Teddington Town 73 for 7 off 20 overs RCC U11B won by 42 runs

RCC U11B lost the toss and were put into bat. Openers Nathan and Mac were soon putting skills practiced in the warm up into effect – a pinched single off a WK fumble which led to an overthrow. So where at the beginning of the season no runs would have been scored we got 3. The openers were parted following some skilful work behind the stumps and Mac being bowled – a useful opening partnership. Wharton came to the wicket and hit a tidy 4 which whistled past square leg.

Leo soon joined Fergus. Leo punished every ball on leg with a 4. The runs were piling up and the TTCC lads and lass were beginning to lose heart. Fergus and Leo were retired on 17 and 27 respectively to give the tail a chance to wag. Jonny Watson playing only his second game was a little nervous early on but soon settled into it and scored a 4. Our final batsman - Wharton - came to the wicket – and together with Evan the last pair got us to 115 for 4. A score I that was always likely to be beyond the hosts.

So it proved – the bowling was reasonable although the wide count was high. The noise level and intensity were both superb early on but drifted as the game wore on.

TTCC scored 73 for 7 with more extras than runs off the bat.
