The nets will be almost full all of next week

The nets have been busy, the coaches have been busy, and members have finally been enjoying some cricket

It has been a really good start down at ODP. The nets have been busy, the coaches have been busy, and members have finally been enjoying some cricket.

With good weather forecast, and our online booking system now open, the nets are going to be very busy over half-term week. It is very important that those using them read the guidelines (we would encourage you to follow the links to the ECB guidelines too). If we are to stay open, and keep our members and coaches safe, it is essential that you follow these guidelines. In particular you must not turn up without a booking, and you must finish at 10 minutes to the hour to ensure contact free changeover. The virus is still a real threat, so act responsibly whilst enjoying the club facilities.

Now an Appeal for funds. Many members have been incredibly generous and we have raised £40k of our £50k target. We are aiming to raise the rest through fundraising (for example the quiz night), coaches fees and member donations for net bookings.

We have 3 lanes at the moment (it will possibly be 5 including 2 on the square very soon). Each of the 3 lanes has 12 slots per day. If half of those are used for member bookings (remember we receive a fee from the coaches or the time that they use) and everyone made a £5 donation each time they used a net, we would raise £630 per week from member donations. We were nowhere near that for the first week, with the vast majority of nets being used without a donation. We do want to keep this voluntary, as we understand that these are difficult times for many of our members, but it is possible that we will have to introduce a mandatory fee. So, for the cost of a coffee each for two people using the nets, please donate when you play.

Enjoy our facilities, look after your club, and stay safe.
