Richmond's unbeaten run continues with cup win whilst bad weather ruins Saturday's league programme.

A weekend which began with the sad news about Terry Woram ended with a very comfortable 9 wicket win in the 2nd Round of the Royal London National Club Championship against near neighbours Twickenham. After all 4 MCCL matches were abandoned as no-result matches on Saturday, the 1's travelled to Twickenham Green with a young side. The hosts won the toss and batted but soon found themselves in trouble at 8 for 2. They rallied slowly and eventually reached 177 for 8 off their allotted 40 overs. Will Jenkins with 3 for 28 and Adam London 2 for 26 were the most successful bowlers but Richmond's attack was steady throughout. In reply, skipper Greg King went for 13 with the score on 26 but Alex Griffiths and Adam London were never in trouble as they cruised to the target with 15 overs to spare. Griff finished on 87 not out, Adam on 70 not out, and Richmond progress to the next round when we will visit our oldest rivals Teddington Cricket Club in Bushy Park on Sunday 3rd June.
