10. Code of Conduct for Junior Players


If you are under 18 read this!

  • Play cricket within the laws and in the spirit of the game
  • Encourage your team
  • Don’t sledge- respect your opponent
  • Be polite to umpires and respect their decisions. Do not show dissent or argue
  • Listen to your coaches – respect them and expect their respect
  • Do not throw tantrums or cricket bats. Such behaviour is not acceptable
  • Know when and where you have a match or training- be on time
  • Wear the right kit and sun cream when required
  • A protective box is required for all hard-ball sessions and helmets must be worn by all players under the age of 18 when batting or standing-up to the stumps when wicket-keeping. Cricket clothing and suitable footwear must be worn for all matches.
  • Throwdowns are dangerous near spectators, bat away from them!
  • Junior members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions
  • Junior members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club
  • If there is a problem speak to your coach, your parent or Neil the Welfare Officer
  • Always say please and thank you to the bar staff
